(First journal entry anywhere in my life)
When I was about 10, ummmm that was in the 70's I was able to occasionally use my fathers Canon AE-1, which was a hot camera at the time. I was fascinated by it.
Eventually as time went on, I had the opportunity to see works of people like Ansel Adams, Robert Mapplethorpe, Helmut Newton, and others. They blew me away. Not that I necessarily liked all the subjects but the emotion and idea they conveyed by them and photography in general left an impression on me.
Had a Canon Eos-10s at the time, had a lot of fun with it, but it ultimately got stolen, it was a gift and there was no way I could replace it at the time. Then I got a Nikon Coolpix 880, which I still have, but mostly it is a a P&S, and early generation digital.
I am now waiting patiently, OK impatiently for my Nikon d40x in the mail. For me a big step in resolution and control, and the instant gratification I so desire in a digital format
I am older now, much less wise. Have some ideas, some may be decent ones.
Let's see where this goes.
Already have met some real good people on DA. I even joined!

Seriously you have to make a choice: Either be a shut in now and great later. Or have a social life now and complain about gas prices for the rest of your life...
Thanx!

The dogma of woman's complete historical subjection to men must be rated as one of the most fantastic myths ever created by the human mind.
